7 Days with Maasai Experience

Overview

On Arrival:Picked at the airport and transfer to Moshi. We take you to Weruweru River Lodge, a very pleasant lodge just outside the busy center where you can relax and enjoy swimming.

Itinerary

Arrive at any time and get picked up from the airport to Kibo Palace Hotel in Arusha

Day 1: Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park is among the most visited park in the North. What is there to see? A lot, especially the elephants and the baobabs! Moreover, you don't have to drive very far here to see a lot: there are countless loops to be made around the central Tarangire River not far from the park entrance, and it is here that you will find the largest concentration of herbivores. In this more remote, but easily accessible park, you will find many other tourists, mostly on high seasons! On a good day you can also come across a lion, leopard and even exceptionally a cheetah.

Day 2 to 4: Serengeti National Park
Via Ngorongoro Conservation Area we drive to the mythical Serengeti National Park. The reference in the safari world. The name Serengeti comes from the Masaai word Siringit, which stands for endless plain. That sums it up a bit. On these grass plains, with an area covering 14,750kmĀ², you will not only find the 1.5 million wildebeest, gazelles and zebras that are part of the migration . You will also find unparalleled numbers of lions, leopards, cheetahs looking out from one of the heads . Together they deliver the biggest wildlife show on earth, if we believe the guys from National Geographic. Stay at Osinon Tented Camp for two nights (upgrades possible to Sound of Silence, Siringit Serengeti Camp)

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater
A brisk day trip follows from Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA). In the NCA, the Maasai tribe lives together with the wild animals.
A 3-hour drive from Serengeti is the world-famous Ngorongoro crater at an altitude of 2300 meters, from which you have a beautiful view from the viewpoint.
In the afternoon we go on a game drive in Ngorongoro Crater. The crater has a large concentration of hyenas, lions and even rhinos! In the evening we leave crater. We are staying in Rhotia Valley Lodge.

Day 6: Osiligilai Maasai Lodge
It is a 3-4 drive to Kilimanjaro and the beautiful end of the trip. The Osiligilai Maasai is a phenomenal lodge with a beautiful view of the Masaai plains between Mt.Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru. From the lodge you may likely get a chance to see herds of Elephants, Giraffes and other herbivores. The lodge is 'in the middle of nowhere', and is operated by and for the local Maasai community. We have provided you with a large family room and a double room.
Here you will be immersed in a unique and very comfortable way in the life of the Masaai tribe. Experience the peace, culture and adventure. The food - Western meets local customs and ingredients - is of excellent quality. Optionally you can also participate in one of the activities.

Day 7: Sightseeing and departure
En-route to the airport, explore the village life around Kilimanjaro including paying a visit to a local school to meet the children. An extended stay on Zanzibar is of course possible.
